Home Police MenuInitiatives
The Westerville Division of Police provides a wide array of community training and crime prevention programs, but also participates in a number of broader initiatives. We are proud to partner with other state and local groups in support of community-wide goals. These initiatives include:
- Working together with the Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children’s Hospital who provide counseling, advocacy and resources to those impacted by Domestic Violence
- The Light Ohio Blue campaign, which brings businesses, law enforcement and government agencies together to display blue lights across the Columbus skyline. The campaign honors fallen officers and their families every May during National Police week.
- Providing safe, public internet exchange zones for parties agreeing to a buy, sell or trade arrangement
- Neighborhood blockwatch programming, which enlists the participation of our community in cooperation with the police to reduce crime
- Project Lifesaver, a rapid-response program aiding victims and families suffering from Alzheimer’s and other related disorders by quickly locating and returning wandering adults and children to their families and caregivers
