False alarms have become a significant concern for law enforcement agencies nationwide. Responding to false alarms makes our agency less available to respond to valid alarms and provide effective public service. In order to reduce the number of false alarms, the City of Westerville has established an ordinance requiring anyone with an alarm system to have a permit, and also details the possible penalties for those not in compliance.

Our hope is that this ordinance encourages alarm users to properly use and maintain their systems to reduce and eliminate false alarms. Our goal is to make Westerville a safer place to live, work, and play!
