The Patrol Bureau contains Patrol and Communications.

The Patrol section is the largest bureau in the Westerville Division of Police, overseeing the Division’s uniformed patrol activities.  Patrol, commanded by an assistant chief of police, is divided into three shifts, each led by a lieutenant and two sergeants.

The Communications section consists of dispatchers and civilian managers who stand ready, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to assist in city emergencies. This staff responds to more than 70,000 calls for emergency service annually, dispatching calls for service and supporting both police and fire operations.
