The Investigative Services Bureau contains the Investigations section and the Records section. 

The Investigations section is responsible for the investigation and prevention of crime.  Detectives work in partnership with patrol officers in these efforts.  Detective work is specialized and involves the examination and evaluation of evidence to apprehend suspects and build cases.

The Records section is responsible for handling the reports that are generated by patrol officers, property and evidence handling, impounded vehicles, and assisting the public.
